ASL Shredder
Overview
ASL Shredder, from Auto Secure Login, removes selected files and records what was actually achieved. It offers five removal levels: delete, verified overwrite (confirmed magnetic disks only), key destruction, managed device wipe and recorded physical destruction, each with different receipt wording. It refuses overwrites it cannot back up, such as on SSDs, phones or virtual disks. Legal holds stop destruction, and signed receipts record the action, assurance level, time and evidence without filenames or contents. A library of 18 sanitisation profiles separates current guidance from legacy recipes.
Key Features
- Five removal levels, from simple delete to recorded physical destruction, each with matching receipt wording.
- Refuses overwrite claims it cannot support, such as on SSDs, phones or virtual disks.
- Legal holds and retention periods that block destruction until released or overridden with a reason.
- Signed receipts naming the action, assurance level, time and evidence, without filenames or contents.
- Library of 18 sanitisation profiles, plus operator-defined passes clearly labelled as non-standard.
Best For
Individuals and organisations that need file removal with an honest, receipt-backed record of what was verified, rather than blanket wipe claims.
Pros & Cons
Cons
- Not on sale at review time: the vendor lists it as internal, and public Windows and Android builds were not yet released.
- Overwrite is limited to confirmed magnetic disks; logical deletion on SSD or flash is not a sanitisation guarantee.
- Not independently benchmarked by SEODataPulse.

“ASL Shredder is a file-removal tool built around honest evidence: it offers several removal levels, refuses overwrite claims it cannot support on SSDs or phones, respects legal holds, and issues signed receipts describing what was actually verified. At the time of review the vendor listed it as not yet for sale, so readers should check availability before planning around it.”
